Idk, for spy shots it looks like a fairly decent adaptation to a near production ready version.
Then again, I probably don’t have the keenest eye for motorcycle design.

Designer: It will take years for this headlight to get approved by the federal government. Should I put it on the concept?
Executive: Ha ha ha it’s cute you think I give a fuck!

I dig. It would have been cool if the way the light looks stayed the same, but I don’t know if led projection could be warped in that tiny space shown in the concept.

sweet headlight is gone, cast wheels VS spoked, HUGE instrument cluster VS tiny one.
and wheels on a bike are not as easier found as they are for a car.

Fair points. I’m curious what keeping those features would have driven the price up to, and where that would have put them in terms of their target position for the bike in the market.
Unfortunately, bean counters rule the business world for the most part. :/

The plate holder and mirrors are the biggest eyesores and the easiest to fix. I do hope the headlight is just a place holder for a test mule.

I'll have to take a look. Two wheels isn't my space, but if true that's a missed opportunity.

the mirrors and plate holder are, agreed, temporary items.
but the HUGE insturment panel, cast VS spoked, and that headlight really kill the rest of the vib.
I was hoping to more or less buy the left bike from a dealer. not buy the bike then spend another 3K to make it look like the left bike.

R1 is the bike on the right.

it still looks pretty sweet and who knows, maybe the spoked wheels with be a (probably expensive) option. It would be nice if they could shrink down the instrument cluster though. Thats one of the few things I really dislike on my SV.

yea, i dont get why companys insist on having MASSIVE ip’s. Part of the reason I like the 1/2 faired bikes, because it hides that monstrosity much better

I test rode it.

I liked it, being a short guy, the narrow-ness makes it sooo confortable to me, also love love the way it looks, only being used to BMW GSs it’s so much better for me.
Seriously considering one now, though I feel like a used Hypermotard might be smarter.

you thought it was comfy? weird. I could NOT find a good position. the seat was shaped so weird and the footpegs were FAR to close to the seat. I felt like the uppper body was poised like an adventure bike, but the lower body like a supersports.
then again, I’m average height and skinny, so it could just be me,.

Average for American I assume, I’m like 5 ft 6 maybe, so for me it was just right, the GSs have to be lowered for me to be confortable, the 800 is too tall for me no matter what, the Adventures are absolutely impossible.
If you’re into Husky as a brand there is also the Nuda:
Look of a supermoto, heart of a BMW, it has the same Rotax engine as the F650/700/800, but upped to 900cc and I think it looks ace, they don’t make them anymore (Husky was bought by KTM in a weird indirect way).
If they were more common here in Mexico I would try to get one, but they are impossibly rare and also could be a bit tall for me.

I’m about 5'10" and about 150lbs.
Those bikes are tall, then again, thats part of their job description.
Id love a nuda, but they never brought them to canada
